About

YAMCS (Yet Another Mission Control System) is an open-source mission control system framework developed by Space Applications Services. It provides a flexible, extensible platform for satellite telemetry reception and processing, commanding, data archiving, alarming, procedure execution, and timeline management, compatible with CCSDS, ECSS, and custom data formats.

YAMCS is used by ESA, national space agencies, research organisations, and commercial satellite operators worldwide. Its open-source nature (Apache 2.0 license) enables rapid adoption and customisation without vendor lock-in, while the professional support, development, and training services provided by Space Applications Services ensure mission-critical reliability. The framework scales from a single cubesat operations centre to multi-mission control facilities.

Key capabilities include real-time and replay telemetry processing, parameter calibration and monitoring, command stacking and automated uplink, event archiving, user-defined displays and dashboards, and REST/WebSocket APIs for integration with external systems. YAMCS is built on a Java/JavaScript stack and supports containerised deployment via Docker for cloud and hybrid operations.

Space Applications Services provides YAMCS professional services including customisation, integration, hosted operations support, and training. The framework is actively maintained with regular releases and has been deployed in numerous operational missions.
