About
Andromeda is a spacecraft Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) software developed by Saturn Satellite Networks. It is designed to control satellites in Geostationary Earth Orbit (GEO), Medium Earth Orbit (MEO), or Low Earth Orbit (LEO). The software is compatible with any CPU that runs a real-time operating system. It includes a fully operational Space environmental model and has undergone extensive testing. Andromeda GNC flight software is scheduled to fly on a LEO mission in 2025. The software has been successfully incorporated on a tiny processor (Arduino Nano ESP32) running FreeRTOS, demonstrating its capability for low-cost microsatellites to perform real-time maneuvers independently or in coordinated swarms. When combined with appropriate propulsion systems and sensors, Andromeda can enable CubeSats to avoid collisions with other satellites and debris, and significantly extend their mission lifetimes in LEO.
