About

Tianlong-2 (“Sky Dragon-2”) is Space Pioneer’s two-stage, kerosene/liquid-oxygen orbital launch vehicle, powered by the company’s own Tianhuo-12 engines. On April 2, 2023, Tianlong-2 lifted off from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center and successfully placed a satellite into sun-synchronous orbit, making Space Pioneer the first Chinese private company to reach orbit with a liquid-propellant rocket and the first startup company anywhere in the world to reach orbit on its maiden launch attempt. The rocket stands roughly 32.8 meters tall and can deliver approximately 2,000 kg to low Earth orbit or about 1,500 kg to a 500 km sun-synchronous orbit, making it suitable for launching small and medium-class satellites and satellite constellations.
