About this service

MBI developed the Antenna Mapping System (AMS) with expertise in spread spectrum protocols, in collaboration with Eutelsat. This system is designed for measuring radiation patterns (antenna mapping) in both transmission and reception, covering co and cross polarizations. It can be used for ground stations during ESVA (Earth Station Verification Assistance) tests and for antennas on board satellites during In-Orbit-Tests (IOTs) after launch. The AMS has been successfully tested during IOTs for Eutelsat 21B and Eutelsat 3B satellites, and during ESVA tests at Eutelsat’s Aflenz teleport. Key benefits include extremely low emitted power to minimize interference, robust radiation pattern measurement against interference, high measurement accuracy and stability, auto-synchronization to lock onto spread spectrum signals even with negative C/N, and high processing gain (up to 60 dB) with a band varying from 100 KHz to 72 MHz. It also includes a drive chain linearity check tool for automatic compensation of non-linearities.
