Astra’s Rocket 4.0 is designed to deliver consistent, reliable access to orbit. It is built on a foundation of rapid iteration and proven performance. The target payload capacity is 1 tonne to mid-inclination low Earth orbit over the product’s lifecycle. It serves orbital inclinations from 29° to 110°. The target launch cadence is weekly, subject to spaceport availability. Rocket 4.0 is a mobile and responsive launch system. The Department of Defense awarded Astra a launch contract in October 2024 to support advancing and scaling the production capabilities of Astra’s tactically responsive launch system, with the objective of launching Rocket 4.0 to orbit or suborbit from the US, Australia, or other locations.
