Xplore’s orbital edge computing capability allows customers to have software-defined payloads. These payloads can create data fusion products, extract insights on-orbit, perform data reduction, and run innovative customer algorithms. This service reduces the cost and latency associated with generating critical insights. The next-generation satellites feature a custom on-board computing environment with a Linux / ARM architecture, supporting customer software payloads (in containers) to utilize sensors and data products with custom algorithms.
