Thermal control within the thermal vac chamber is achieved using liquid nitrogen or cold gaseous nitrogen for sub-ambient to cryogenic testing, and room temperature or heated gaseous nitrogen for ambient and above-ambient temperatures. This allows for thermal conduction measurements between 80 K and 450 K with high accuracy. For even lower temperatures, the capability exists to use gaseous or liquid helium to reach 10 K and below at the heat sink interface, catering to specialized measurement needs for various test articles.
