Satellite Attitude Determination and Control Algorithm Development

Orbit NTNU

The ADCS team develops algorithms for spacecraft to determine its orientation and control its rotation using onboard sensors.

About this service

The Attitude Determination and Control System (ADCS) team provides a service focused on developing ADCS algorithms. These algorithms enable a spacecraft to accurately determine its pointing direction and control its rotation. By utilizing onboard sensors, the ADCS estimates the spacecraft’s orientation relative to celestial bodies like Earth, the Sun, or stars, and actively corrects disturbances. This transforms a drifting object into a stable, precisely pointed spacecraft, which is crucial for communication, power generation, and scientific measurements.
