Description
Cobalt is a fully self-contained optical communication terminal designed to facilitate inter-satellite communication. It features an integrated gimbal and star cameras, enabling it to self-orient and significantly simplifying its integration with the host spacecraft. This design allows Cobalt to function as a high-speed data link, akin to an Ethernet cable, between satellites. A gimbal-less variant of Cobalt is also available upon request, offering flexibility for different mission requirements.
