The Leap rocket employs a tower recovery scheme, which eliminates landing legs to reduce weight and improve carrying capacity. This design also reduces landing impact load, prolongs service life, avoids engine jet reflection and ablation near the ground, and reduces electrical equipment, sensors, test content, and test cycle.
