FLOTONE ONE Flight Computer
Onboard flight computer integrating flight control, engine thrust control, and telemetry for the Yueqian-1 launch vehicle.
Description
The FLOTONE ONE is Cosmoleap's indigenous onboard computer (OBC) developed for the Yueqian-1 launch vehicle. It serves as the central nervous system of the rocket, consolidating flight control, engine thrust-vector and throttle control, telemetry acquisition, and health-monitoring functions into a single integrated platform.
The unit is built around automotive and industrial-grade components rather than space-heritage or military-spec parts, a deliberate design choice to balance cost-effectiveness with the reliability required for launch vehicles. A multi-layer redundancy architecture compensates for the lower heritage level of the components, providing triple-redundant circuit paths and continuous self-diagnostics across all modules.
The hardware employs a modular drawer-type physical construction that allows individual functional modules to be swapped or reconfigured without disturbing the rest of the stack. Multiple integrated bus types are used to achieve high reliability and real-time data throughput, and inter-module communications incorporate error-correction protocols to prevent data corruption during high-vibration flight phases.
Key software capabilities include autonomous flight-path planning, in-flight fault detection and recovery, and integrated management of the booster reentry and tower-catch terminal guidance sequence.
