Equatorial Space Systems

Equatorial Space Systems (ESS) is a Singapore-based New Space company developing hybrid-propulsion launch vehicles powered by its proprietary High Regression Fuel (HRF-1), used with a High Test Peroxide (HTP) oxidizer. The company's core innovation is a 100% pyrotechnics-and-explosives-free propulsion system that it says cuts greenhouse gas emissions by up to 60% and cost by up to 80% versus traditional kerosene/LOX (KEROLOX) propulsion, while eliminating explosive-equivalence hazards from the vehicle.

ESS's product line includes the VOLANS orbital launch vehicle family and the DORADO suborbital sounding rocket. The company has been supported by Singapore's national space and startup ecosystem, including Startup SG Equity, the NUS Enterprise Startup Runway, the SSTL Accelerator Program (NAMIC), Space Faculty, and Techstars, and won the 2018 MBRSC (Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre) Innovation Challenge.
