About GTM Advanced Structures

GTM Advanced Structures is a medium-sized space hardware company based in The Hague, Netherlands, specializing exclusively in the design, manufacturing, and testing of solar panels for satellite and spacecraft applications. Operating from their facility at Laan van Ypenburg, GTM serves as a one-stop shop for satellite integrators seeking certified, mission-ready power generation hardware without the overhead of managing multiple suppliers.

The company holds AS9100 certification and maintains comprehensive in-house capabilities across every phase of solar panel production. Their design services include mission requirement analysis, solar cell selection (GaAs or Si technologies), array architecture definition, electrical and thermal management engineering, and full mechanical and structural design. Prototyping covers the complete model philosophy: mock-ups, breadboards, engineering models, structural/thermal models, and protoflight units.

GTM's manufacturing infrastructure spans substrate production (lay-up, autoclave cure, machining, and insert integration), photovoltaic assembly (solar cell sorting, interconnect welding, cell bonding, harnessing), and final assembly including hold-down and release mechanisms. In-house testing covers electroluminescence, photoluminescence, Light-IV curve measurement, shaker testing, deployment testing, and thermal cycling.

With more than 80 SmallSat solar panels and over 200 CubeSat solar panels now deployed and operating in orbit, GTM has built strong flight heritage across a range of missions. The company is expanding its production facility by 900 m² by end of 2026 to meet growing demand.
