Solar Panel Substrate Manufacturing and Photovoltaic Assembly
GTM-AS offers comprehensive in-house manufacturing services for satellite solar panels, covering substrate production, photovoltaic assembly, and final testing.
Description
GTM-AS provides end-to-end manufacturing services for solar panels, specifically designed for satellite applications. The process begins with substrate manufacturing, where all steps from lay-up and curing to the installation of inserts and brackets are handled in-house to ensure quality. This includes capabilities such as lay-up skins, bonded assembly, autoclave curing, machining, integration of inserts and brackets, and in-process testing. Following substrate production, the Photovoltaic Assembly (PVA) process involves bonding, welding, and electrically connecting solar cells to create a fully functional solar power unit. PVA capabilities include sorting and inspection of solar cells, interconnecting (welding), solar cell bonding, harnessing (wiring), and in-line testing and inspection. Finally, the assembled solar panels undergo rigorous testing and verification of their electrical and operational performance, including assembly of hold-down and release mechanisms, installation of connectors, output measurement (EL, PL, and Light-IV), and deployment testing. Once approved, the solar panels are ready for installation on a satellite.
