Micromotion GmbH, a subsidiary of Harmonic Drive® SE, designs and manufactures high-precision, performance-optimized micro drive technology, including micro drives and micro gearboxes. The company specializes in products with maximum accuracy and minimal dimensions, serving customers from development consultation through construction to the finished precision product. Their products are used in applications ranging from robotic surgery to space technology. Micromotion was founded in 2001 and has been supplying non-European markets, including the USA and South Africa, since 2006. The company introduced a comprehensive quality management system in 2003, standardizing processes and implementing an error reporting system for complete product traceability. They developed the world's smallest zero backlash micro gearbox and revolutionized the market for zero backlash gears with their 6-series in 2010. First developments for space technology have been in use for more than two years as of 2006.
