Omnispace Global 5G Hybrid Network
The world's first truly global 5G hybrid satellite-terrestrial network delivering direct-to-device connectivity using 3GPP standards and NGSO S-band satellites.
Description
Omnispace is building the world's first global 5G network by integrating non-geostationary orbit (NGSO) S-band satellites with existing terrestrial mobile networks using 3GPP standards. The network enables seamless, standards-compliant connectivity on a single SIM — devices automatically connect to terrestrial networks where available and fall over to satellite coverage everywhere else. The platform supports consumer mobile internet, enterprise IoT, and government mission-critical communications worldwide. Omnispace has demonstrated 5G NB-IoT over NGSO satellites, a global first validating the technical approach. In October 2025, Lynk Global and Omnispace announced plans to merge, combining complementary direct-to-device technologies into a unified next-generation global D2D platform.
