About Orbital Matter

Orbital Matter is a Warsaw, Poland-based space technology company founded in 2022 by Jakub Stojek (CEO) and Robert Ihnatisin (CTO), who met through the Entrepreneur First Berlin accelerator program. The company builds hardware that manufactures large-scale space infrastructure — such as solar array booms, radiators and antenna structures — directly in orbit, avoiding the mass and volume penalties of traditional fold-out mechanisms that must be pre-built and packaged on Earth.

The company's core product is PADS (Printer Assisted Deployment System), a compact, self-contained module that integrates with existing satellite platforms. PADS stores a proprietary liquid photopolymer resin material, called SPACECRETE, that flows like a fluid but hardens in seconds into a rigid, joint-free structure once extruded through a precision print head and cured with UV light in the vacuum of space. The system can continuously print structural booms ranging from roughly 10 meters up to 100+ meters, with zero on-orbit debris generation, an adjustable diameter of 38-90mm, and around 20W peak power draw.

Orbital Matter's roadmap extends the PADS approach toward kilometer-scale solar and thermal arrays intended to enable orbital data centers and commercial space stations, and eventually toward a universal on-orbit 3D printer capable of constructing arbitrary geometries for space stations and lunar infrastructure. The company has raised early funding from investors including Entrepreneur First, Dhyan VC, Sunfish Partners and Earlybird/Earlygame Ventures, and collaborates with partners such as Thales Alenia Space and the European Space Agency, additionally maintaining an office in Berlin, Germany.
