SEIREN Co., Ltd. (Space Division)

SEIREN Co., Ltd. began as a silk fabric processing company in Fukui, Japan in 1889, evolving over more than a century into a diversified advanced-materials manufacturer. The company operates through segments including Automotive Upholstery, Electronics Materials, and Environmental & Life Materials, with net sales of 171.7 billion yen in fiscal year 2026 and 7,291 employees across 18 countries.

SEIREN entered the space industry in 2016 as part of the Fukui Prefectural Citizens Satellite Project. Their first satellite, RWASAT-1 (Suisei), launched in March 2021 from Baikonur Cosmodrome and began imaging Fukui Prefecture every two weeks. This led to the formation of a dedicated Artificial Satellite Group focused on mass-producing small satellite buses and developing key enabling hardware such as integrated AOCS units. Their satellite TIRSAT, a 3U CubeSat with uncooled infrared sensor, launched on Japan H3 rocket in February 2024.

SEIREN core advantage in space manufacturing comes from precision weaving, vibration-damping materials (acoustic blankets supplied for Japan Epsilon and H3 rockets), and rigorous quality assurance processes. The company collaborates with Synspective on SAR antenna mass production and signed agreements with ArkEdge Space in 2025 for multi-unit ultra-small satellite manufacturing. SEIREN aims to grow space revenues to 6 billion yen by fiscal year 2031.
