The 40-metre Thai National Radio Telescope (TNRT) is a Nasmyth-Cassegrain single-dish radio telescope located at the Thai National Radio Astronomy Observatory in Doi Saket District, Chiang Mai Province, and is the largest radio telescope in Southeast Asia. It operates across a frequency range of 300 MHz to 115 GHz, with a main reflector built from 420 panels achieving a target surface accuracy of approximately 150 microns RMS. The telescope was built under contract with Germany’s MT Mechatronics (an OHB SE subsidiary) in collaboration with Yebes Observatory (IGN, Spain), and is equipped with L-band and K-band receivers co-developed with the Max Planck Institute for Radio Astronomy, alongside the Universal Software Backend (USB) data acquisition system.
