About
The Ascent Solar Smallsat HDK is a flatpack folding solar array system engineered for ESPA-class and ESPA Grande smallsat platforms. Optimized for 28 V power bus architectures, the Smallsat HDK leverages Ascent’s Titan CIGS thin-film modules to deliver high specific power in a compact, stackable flatpack form factor that maximizes payload density on rideshare launches.
The flatpack design minimizes stowed volume and enables tighter packing, so more spacecraft fit into a single launch vehicle. Once on orbit, the folding arrays deploy to expose large photovoltaic area. Built on technologies matured in NASA and JAXA collaborations and validated on-orbit at TRL 9, the Smallsat HDK comes pre-integrated and pre-tested as a Plug & Fly assembly.
