About

Astraeus is a high-thrust, cryogenic space vehicle developed by Orbital Operations. It is designed for rapid response and dynamic in-orbit missions, utilizing an advanced cooling system to maintain cryogenic propellant at stable temperatures for extended durations. This zero boil-off capability allows the vehicle to loiter in orbit without fuel loss due to evaporation, ensuring it is always ready for engagement. The vehicle integrates its thermal management system directly with its engine, rather than relying on traditional radiators. This design choice reduces dry mass and complexity while efficiently dissipating heat, a solution made possible by advanced materials and manufacturing techniques. Astraeus is built for long-term sustainability in orbit, with the capability to be refueled using water-based electrolysis systems or through cryogenic propellant transfers from launch vehicles, enabling true orbital persistence. It offers various mission capabilities, including hosted payloads, LEO to GEO transfers (with and without return), LEO to MEO transfers, and LEO to TLI transfers.
