About
Blue Orbit’s Gridded Ion Thruster (GIT) accelerates ions through a series of grids using electrostatic forces, achieving very high exhaust velocities and specific impulse. This makes it particularly well-suited for deep-space missions, extended station-keeping, and orbit-raising maneuvers where propellant efficiency is critical.
The thruster operates in the same compact 90×85×115 mm envelope as Blue Orbit’s other thruster variants, enabling multi-thruster cluster configurations for larger delta-V budgets. The GIT provides up to 2,000 kNs total impulse, making it one of Blue Orbit’s highest-endurance propulsion solutions.
