CAS500-1 is a 500kg-class medium-sized Earth observation satellite developed by KARI and manufactured by KAI. It carries a high-resolution optical camera providing 0.5m panchromatic resolution imagery. Launched in 2021 aboard a Soyuz-2 rocket from Baikonur, it demonstrates Korea’s next-generation small satellite bus technology.
