CETC Satellite Communication Systems

China Electronics Technology Group Corporation (CETC, 中国电子科技集团公司) is one of China’s largest state-owned defense electronics conglomerates, with a dedicated Space and Satellite Systems division producing satellite communication ground terminals, modem hardware, and phased array antenna systems for Chinese military and commercial satellite communication programs.

CETC provides the ground segment infrastructure for China’s military satellite communication networks (MILSATCOM), including transportable satellite terminals, shipborne and airborne SATCOM antennas, and secure communication modems. The company also manufactures satellite navigation receivers based on BeiDou technology and produces electronic components used in Chinese satellite payloads.

CETC’s satellite modem products support multiple air interface waveforms including DVB-S2 (for commercial broadcast), proprietary military waveforms, and CDMA/OFDM waveforms for mobile SATCOM. The company’s phased array antenna research produces electronically scanned antenna (ESA) systems for low-latency LEO satellite tracking without mechanical pointing. CETC employs over 170,000 people across its dozens of research institutes and subsidiary companies, and maintains strict ITAR-equivalent export controls from the Chinese government perspective.
