Comat’s Solar Array Drive Mechanism (SADM) rotates a satellite’s solar arrays to keep them sun-pointed throughout the orbit, maximizing power generation. The mechanism integrates a drive motor, gearbox, and slip ring assembly to transfer both power and telemetry/control signals across the rotating joint.
The SADM is designed for small satellite and microsatellite platforms, with a compact envelope and low mass suited to constrained spacecraft budgets. Comat’s mechanical design draws on its heritage manufacturing precision rotary mechanisms for the space industry.
