FGN-100 Satellite Series
Turkey's largest indigenously built private-sector LEO satellites, designed for positioning, telemetry, and payload communication for the Uluğbey GPS constellation.

The FGN-100 series are Fergani Space’s flagship LEO smallsats and the cornerstones of the Uluğbey Global Positioning System constellation. Two demonstration satellites have been launched: FGN-100-D1 (102 kg, launched January 14, 2025) and FGN-100-D2 (104 kg, launched November 2, 2025), both into ~510 km sun-synchronous orbits via SpaceX Falcon 9 rideshare missions. At the time of their respective launches, each held the record as the largest satellite ever built by a private Turkish company.
Both satellites were developed entirely in-house by Fergani’s 135-person engineering team. Indigenous subsystems include avionics, national flight software, green propulsion engines, structural design, and full environmental testing. The triple-redundant flight computer architecture provides high reliability in orbit, and the platform supports mission durations of 5–7 years.
In orbit the FGN-100 satellites operate at 7.6 km/s and complete approximately 15 revolutions of the Earth per day. Their primary mission objectives are to validate operational telemetry-telecommand links, GPS positioning payloads, and inter-satellite payload communication systems in advance of full constellation deployment.
The Uluğbey constellation is planned to comprise over 100 satellites deployed over five years, providing a sovereign Turkish global positioning service for navigation, timing, and geolocation.
