FOSSASat

The FOSSASat is a new generation satellite developed by FOSSA, aimed at providing secure, accessible, and reliable IoT communications from Low Earth Orbit (LEO) anywhere, and carrying custom payloads for constellations. It bridges the gap between delocalized assets and decision-makers, enabling customers to monitor and control them remotely, even when out of terrestrial network coverage. The FOSSASat serves as the cornerstone for FOSSA’s current and future developments. It is a modular and easily scalable platform with more advanced capabilities compared to its predecessor, FOSSASat FEROX. While optimized for IoT and radio frequency communications applications, its flexible design allows for quick adaptation to other mission types. Key features include a power generation capacity superior to 30W, a high-precision attitude control system, and a communications system based on Software Defined Radio (SDR). The platform supports launching dedicated IoT cell towers into space for connecting assets globally using LPWAN technologies, SDR technology and radio frequency detection for terrestrial spectrum monitoring and situational awareness, and integrating dedicated Earth Observation (EO) instruments to enhance service quality through distributed constellations with low temporal resolution. It offers standard FOSSA interfaces for integrating various payloads (EO, RF, PNT, etc.) with its constellation-ready platform.
