About

Sejong-1 is South Korea’s first commercial Earth-observation smallsat, operated by Hancom InSpace, launched May 2022. The 6U CubeSat carries a red-edge band optimized for vegetation-index analysis of crops and forests, operating in a 500 km orbit and delivering 5 m GSD multispectral imagery across 7 VNIR bands. It is the first of a planned five-satellite Sejong constellation (Sejong-1 through Sejong-5), with Sejong-2 specializing in marine/agricultural monitoring and urban applications.
