About

The HL-1 is Herik Labs’ flagship rocket engine — claimed to be the world’s most efficient rocket engine — powered exclusively by green hydrogen, producing zero greenhouse gas emissions during operation. The engine cycle is designed without battery technology, making it inherently scalable from small cubesat launch applications through to propulsion systems capable of landing a lunar rover.

Manufactured via metal 3D printing, the HL-1 achieves up to 85% fewer individual components compared to conventionally manufactured rocket engines, dramatically reducing production time and cost while simultaneously improving reliability through reduced part count and elimination of assembly interfaces. The fully reusable design targets 25% greater specific impulse (Isp) compared to current alternative engines at equivalent thrust class.
