ExoMG Hall Effect Thruster
ExoMG is Exotrail’s Hall effect electric thruster designed for small satellites from 20 kg to 500 kg class. Hall effect thrusters use a magnetic field to ionize xenon propellant and accelerate the ions to generate thrust via the electrostatic interaction, achieving specific impulses of 1,000–2,000 s — far higher than chemical propulsion. ExoMG provides thrust […]

About
ExoMG is Exotrail’s Hall effect electric thruster designed for small satellites from 20 kg to 500 kg class. Hall effect thrusters use a magnetic field to ionize xenon propellant and accelerate the ions to generate thrust via the electrostatic interaction, achieving specific impulses of 1,000–2,000 s — far higher than chemical propulsion. ExoMG provides thrust levels from 1 to 20 mN and enables orbit raising, plane changes, deorbit manoeuvres, and formation flying for smallsat constellations. Exotrail (founded 2017, based in Paris) also offers the SpaceVan™ propulsion module, a fully integrated unit that includes propellant storage, power conditioning, and flight software. Exotrail’s products are used by multiple commercial constellation operators for LEO satellite operations. The company raised over €55 million in Series B funding in 2023.
