The hiSky SmartLITE Ka-Band 8×8 Terminal brings the SmartLITE phased-array architecture to the Ka-band frequency range, enabling access to high-throughput satellite (HTS) capacity for mobile platforms. Ka-band HTS satellites offer significantly higher data rates per MHz of spectrum compared to traditional Ku-band systems, making this terminal ideal for bandwidth-intensive applications.
The terminal features the same flat-panel electronically-steered design as the rest of the SmartLITE range, with no moving parts and full compatibility with the HISKY Hub and SmartLITE NMS. The Ka-band system is FCC-certified and suitable for commercial and government applications in North America, Europe, and regions served by Ka-band HTS satellites.
Target markets include connected commercial aircraft, maritime vessels requiring high-bandwidth data services, and defence platforms needing secure broadband uplink capacity from Ka-band military satellite systems.
