VEDA is InspeCity’s core on-orbit servicing transport vehicle, designed to carry the company’s robotic subsystems — RIG (robotic guidance module) and RAMA (robotic arm) — to a target satellite for life-extension servicing or controlled end-of-life deorbiting. As the platform that physically transports InspeCity’s servicing payload to a client or derelict spacecraft, VEDA anchors the company’s broader vision of building a reusable, multi-mission in-space servicing infrastructure rather than one-off single-use missions.
VEDA is designed around green propulsion technology, aligning with the growing regulatory and commercial preference for non-toxic, environmentally responsible propellants in on-orbit servicing operations. Once VEDA rendezvouses with a target using guidance data from the CHAKSU sensing suite, RIG precisely aligns the vehicle for capture or proximity operations, and RAMA performs the physical servicing task — whether that is component inspection, minor repair, refueling support, or grappling for a controlled deorbit maneuver.
The vehicle is intended to operate on a pay-as-you-go commercial model, allowing satellite operators to purchase servicing missions incrementally rather than committing to large upfront contracts — a structure aimed at making on-orbit servicing accessible to a broader range of commercial and government satellite owners, including those with aging constellations facing end-of-life decisions.
VEDA represents the culmination of InspeCity’s integrated servicing stack: sensing (CHAKSU), guidance (RIG), manipulation (RAMA), and transport (VEDA) working together as a single coherent system, positioning the Indian company within the emerging global market for in-orbit servicing, assembly, and manufacturing (ISAM).
