About
The Keystone Separation System is SEOPS’ payload separation and deployment hardware, engineered for smooth, low-shock separation of small satellite payloads. Its ultra-streamlined design has been rigorously tested to ensure consistent results under strenuous flight conditions, and it is the first separation system fully tested to launch vehicle flight levels, meaning launch vehicle providers do not need to accommodate untested risks.
Keystone consists of only four key components, enabling fast, straightforward integration and operation. While most high-mass satellites require a four-point separation signal (often triggering additional costs from the launch provider), Keystone’s structural strength allows these payloads to fly using a single-interface solution. The system measures only 2.10 inches in height, with precision-engineered separation springs that provide smooth, even payload deployment with minimal shock and low tip-off rates across the full payload mass range.
Keystone is manufactured in the United States from 7072-T6 aluminum (as listed in the manufacturer’s technical specifications), providing rapid launch readiness with high-tolerance machining and scalable quality that reduces mission complexity and overall cost. It is available in three bolt-pattern configurations (8-inch, 15-inch, and 24-inch) to meet the diverse needs of smallsat missions, with custom sizes available upon request.
Configurations:
– 8″ bolt pattern: up to 150 kg maximum satellite mass
– 15″ bolt pattern: up to 450 kg maximum satellite mass
– 24″ bolt pattern: up to 850 kg maximum satellite mass
