About
The RD-107A is a four-chamber liquid propellant rocket engine powering the lateral strap-on boosters of Soyuz-FG and Soyuz-2 launch vehicles. Burning LOX and RG-1 kerosene in an open-cycle design, it delivers 1,019.9 kN vacuum thrust with 320.2 seconds specific impulse. A derivative of the original RD-107 that powered early Sputnik and Vostok missions.
