About
The Ligado MSATe Mobile Satellite Radio is based on terrestrial radio standards and integrates into existing land mobile radio (LMR) networks, providing a cost-effective alternative to new infrastructure in remote or temporary locations. It supports dual-mode operation, running traditional telephony service in tandem with Push-to-Talk (PTT) service, and is fully interoperable with legacy MSAT radios, talkgroups, and services including the Ligado SMART public-safety interoperability program. It is available in fixed, mobile, and maritime configurations, covering North and Central America, Northern South America, the Caribbean, Hawaii, and coastal waters via the SkyTerra-1 satellite.
