About

The NG-ULTRA RH is NanoXplore’s flagship space-grade System-on-Chip FPGA, fabricated on STMicroelectronics’ 28nm FD-SOI process and combining a high-density programmable logic fabric with an integrated quad-core ARM Cortex-R52 processor subsystem on a single die. Logic resources span 536,928 LUT-4s and 505,344 registers (approximately 8 million ASIC gate equivalents), supported by 33 Mb of embedded RAM (32.25 Mb DPRAM + 1.51 Mb register file). The NG-ULTRA’s high-speed interface portfolio supports 32 SERDES transmit/receive channels at 6.5 Gbps, SpaceWire links at 430 Mbps, DDR2/DDR3 memory controllers, and up to 1.6 Gbps I/O, enabling signal-processing-intensive payloads including radar and SAR data handling, communications modem chains, and AI inference accelerators in orbit. Radiation hardening by design (RHBD) on the 28nm FD-SOI process delivers SEU immunity at LET > 60 MeV·cm²/mg and 50 kRad(Si) TID tolerance, with embedded EDAC and scrubbing across all configuration and user memories. The NG-ULTRA RH is the first product qualified to the new ESA ESCC 9030 standard (European microcircuits standard for BGA flip-chip and plastic packages). The device is housed in a BGA-1760 45×45mm / 1mm-pitch package with 740 user I/Os (436 logic + 304 SoC). NanoXplore FPGAs are baselined for Galileo, Copernicus, and numerous commercial LEO constellation programs, establishing European strategic independence from non-European rad-hard FPGA suppliers.
