The NEXTAR NX-1500L is NEC Space Technologies’ standardized medium satellite bus for Low Earth Orbit missions. Derived from experience gained on the GCOM-W (Global Change Observation Mission for Water) satellite developed for JAXA, this three-axis stabilized platform accommodates satellites in the 1,000–1,500 kg total mass range. Like other NEXTAR variants, it features the SpaceWire communications protocol, the SpaceCube2 on-board computer, and autonomous satellite control functions. The NX-1500L is primarily used for Earth observation missions and supports larger, higher-power payloads than the smaller NX-300L bus.
