About

Element Defense offers a wide range of EMI/EMC testing and engineering services designed to ensure product compliance and reliability in various electromagnetic environments. Their testing capabilities cover harmonics and flicker, electrical fast transients, voltage dips and interrupts, electrical surge, radiated susceptibility (up to 200V/m, 10kHz to 40GHz), magnetic susceptibility (dc to 100 kHz), and HIRF testing (400 MHz to 18 GHz). They also specialize in lightning effects testing, including indirect lightning to 10 kV/10 kA, with multiple stroke, multiple burst, and single stroke capabilities, adhering to SAE ARP 5416, DO-160, Airbus, and Boeing specifications.

For NEBS/Telecom/ITE product compliance, services include surge, lightning, ESD, AC power fault, radiated and conducted emissions/immunity, electrical safety, bonding and grounding, DC power characteristics, TEER (energy efficiency testing), and acoustic noise (GR-63, ISO, and MIL-STD).

The facility features 3 and 10 Meter Listed Semi-Anechoic Chambers, as well as 40’ x 40’ x 20’ Semi-Anechoic Chambers specifically for MIL and Aerospace applications. They also utilize TEM Cell and Strip Line Cells.

Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) testing includes a wide variety of network models up to +/- 30 kV contact and Air discharges, 300 kV vertical lift simulation, and P-static discharges.

Beyond testing, Element Defense provides EMI / EMC / HIRF/ Indirect Lightning Analysis and Engineering Services. These include Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) Test and Analyses of Systems and Platforms, EMC Control Plan development, EMI and EMC Product Design Review and compliance risk assessments, EMI/EMC Design hardening, troubleshooting, design mitigation, performance requirements definition and flow down, requirements gap analysis, risk mitigation plans, and test procedures and EMI test plans and procedures development. Their team includes NARTE Certified Engineers. They address problematic design challenges by providing experienced subject matter experts in EMC, HIRF, and indirect lightning, covering regulatory requirements, product design, EMI-control materials, and pre-compliance testing.
