About
Orbit Fab’s In-Space Fuel Delivery Service, branded as “Gas Stations in Space™”, provides on-demand refueling for spacecraft. The service utilizes fuel shuttles to deliver propellant directly to client spacecraft equipped with Orbit Fab’s RAFTI™ (Rapidly Attachable Fluid Transfer Interface) refueling interface. This allows for cooperative docking and refueling in any orbit, at any time. The initial offering, available in 2025, is for hydrazine delivery in Geostationary Earth Orbit (GEO), with a stated capacity of 100kg. The service aims to augment mission capabilities by providing more delta-V, extending spacecraft lifespan, and enabling new mission profiles. Orbit Fab also offers mission planning software, UMPIRE, to optimize refueling logistics and explore benefits for customers. The company is building flight-proven hardware and has secured contracts to refuel U.S. Space Force satellites and support the UK Space Agency’s Active Debris Removal Program. They also plan to refuel Astroscale’s LEXI servicers with up to 1000kg of xenon in GEO.
