Orbit Fab

Orbit Fab is a San Francisco, California-based in-space refueling company pioneering the infrastructure for satellite propellant resupply in orbit. The company is developing RAFTI (Rapid Attachable Fluid Transfer Interface) — a standardized propellant transfer port designed to become the industry standard for satellite refueling, analogous to how USB standardized data connectors on Earth.

Orbit Fab's vision is to create a gas-station-in-space network, starting with hydrazine depots in key orbital regimes. By enabling satellite operators to refuel their spacecraft rather than decommissioning them when propellant runs out, Orbit Fab can dramatically extend satellite lifespans, reduce space debris, and lower the lifetime cost of satellite operations. The company has launched demonstration missions and signed commercial agreements with satellite operators and the US Space Force.

Backed by notable investors including Lockheed Martin Ventures, Toyota Ventures, and the US Defense Innovation Unit, Orbit Fab is building toward a future where orbital propellant depots are as routine as fuel stations on Earth — a foundational piece of infrastructure for a thriving in-space economy.
