OrbitXchange™

OrbitXchange™ is a commercial antenna service designed to enable global satellite connectivity for the rapidly expanding population of spacecraft. It addresses the challenge of government satellite control networks exceeding capacity by offering customers a cybersecure cloud-based service that partners with globally distributed commercial antennas to communicate with spacecraft. This service allows customers to pay by the minute, avoiding the burden of financing and maintaining their own antennas. OrbitXchange™ leverages available excess time on existing commercial antennas, dedicated leases, quantity discounts, or hosted antenna services to provide an automated, cybersecure, and tested satellite communications solution for on-orbit assets. It meets existing Satellite Control Network (SCN) scheduling formats, avoiding additional mission planning costs, and provides a secure enclave between commercial providers and Government infrastructure with validated NIST cybersecurity and encryption per NSA policies. The system works with any space-to-ground link communication type, including phased array and laser, and offers automated operations with machine-to-machine interfaces. Its multi-objective scheduling algorithm can optimize schedules based on quality of service, cost, or user-defined criteria, and it supports the delivery of satellite data as a service. The OrbitXchange™ Prime Antenna Network augments commercial partner networks, validates space-to-ground link settings, performance, and prototype testing with the SDR Mission Link Modem (MLM), and supports the fielding of a Phased Array Fed Reflector (PAFR) antenna. This network enables customers to schedule contacts, maintain constellation schedules, and transfer data securely, 24/7. The service also includes the Ace Factory Compatibility Tester (FCT) to cost-effectively validate new spacecraft compatibility with OrbitXchange™ and SCN communication links prior to launch.
