Our Infrastructure
OrbAstro offers a comprehensive space infrastructure including a 20,000sqft satellite factory, a global S-band & Ka-band ground station network, a petaFLOPS-scale data centre, and an end-to-end mission operations framework.
About
OrbAstro’s infrastructure provides deep vertical integrity with compounding flight heritage, ensuring every subsystem, flight code, and AIT process is developed and built in unison under one roof for comprehensive satellite constellation production and operations. The 20,000sqft satellite factory, located near Oxford, is designed for rapid constellation deployment, with streamlined inspection, assembly, integration, and test processes supporting parallel production across nanosatellite and ESPA-class platforms. This facility can achieve a throughput capacity of approximately 500 satellites per year. Complementing this is a geographically distributed S-band & Ka-band ground station network spanning the UK, Canada, Iceland, India, Australia, and South Korea, providing regular access opportunities and reducing dependence on single sites. This network allows for around 280 passes per week per satellite, with an average pass duration of 8 minutes, and supports high-rate downlink up to 4Gbps. For data processing, OrbAstro operates a 97 petaFLOP processing cluster that supports real-time satellite health monitoring, RF performance analysis, mission data processing, and constellation-scale operational decision support. This data centre infrastructure powers their Mission Control System and Abel AI engine. Finally, an End-to-End Mission Operations Framework covers the entire satellite lifecycle, from pre-launch rehearsal through commissioning, routine operations, anomaly response, customer reporting, and end-of-life disposal, ensuring a complete operational service.
