About
DSI’s Payload Data Handling Units (PDHUs) are designed to support space missions by providing robust mass memory solutions for spacecraft data. These units include essential support functions such as telemetry encoding and data processing. Available as standalone boxes or as boards for integration into existing enclosures, DSI’s PDHUs address on-board storage needs with flexibility. Key product advantages include solid-state recording, reliable data storage, flexible and customizable interfacing, and high performance. DSI PDHUs support high data rate payloads and telemetry with high-capacity storage, ensuring reliable, long-term data storage in-orbit. Features encompass data storage and transmission, encryption/compression, file management, CFDP-support, and options for file system or packet store, all designed to be single point failure free. They come in a wide range of performance capabilities, with storage capacities from 1–8 Tbit, data rates up to 5 Gbps, and various interfaces like WizardLink, Ethernet (100/1000), SpaceFibre, SpaceWire, and MIL-STD-1553B. The units are compact, with volumes from 260 x 133 x 224 mm³, and low power consumption from 12 W – 35 W, with expandability for higher performance. Future capabilities include data rates up to 20 Gbps and 48 Tbit in next-generation products.
