Perseus-O

Micro-class Earth observation satellite series for multispectral remote sensing

About

Perseus-O is a series of micro-class Earth observation satellites developed by Dauria Aerospace since 2013, based on the Perseus platform. The satellites provide three-channel remote sensing in the visible and near-infrared bands at 22-meter resolution, chosen to allow data fusion with the US Landsat series and the UK-led DMC constellation. The full project envisions a constellation of 8 Perseus-O satellites capable of imaging all of Earth’s landmass within one week. Each satellite carries a multispectral camera with NIR, Green and Blue channels, enabling high-accuracy NDVI-based vegetation monitoring. Applications include agriculture and forestry, meteorology, climate-change and human-impact research, emergency services support, and disaster response. Satellites are equipped with an in-house camera unit and a Ka-band radio transmitter capable of downlinking data at up to 40 Mbps to ground receiving stations.
