PIEL-POD (Pillar-Internalized / Expended Lightweight Deployer)
Lightweight pillar-internalized CubeSat deployer, 16U available with 4U/8U in development
About
PIEL-POD (Pillar-Internalized / Expended Lightweight Deployer) is DALRO Aerospace’s next-generation CubeSat/small-satellite deployer, designed with an internalized pillar structure to reduce mass while maintaining structural stability during launch and ejection. The 16U configuration is currently available, with 4U and 8U variants under development to cover a wider range of mission payload sizes. Like DALRO’s other deployer products, PIEL-POD is engineered to minimize satellite rotation during the ejection/separation process, which the company identifies as one of the key technical challenges in reliable small-satellite deployment. A test flight for PIEL-POD is estimated for 2027, and DALRO is actively recruiting test launch partners for this campaign. The deployer is part of DALRO’s broader satellite fixation and separation solution lineup, intended to serve CubeSat and small-satellite operators seeking a lightweight, flight-qualified dispenser for launch vehicle integration.
