About

The Pyxis Space Star Field Simulator is a hardware-in-the-loop test tool that generates synthetic star field images for functional testing of star sensors in a ground laboratory. By projecting a computer-generated star field, it allows engineers to verify star tracker performance, software algorithms, and attitude determination accuracy without access to a real night sky or thermal vacuum chamber. The simulator supports battery-powered stand-alone operation, making it usable on air bearing tables for closed-loop ADCS testing where the satellite mock-up physically rotates. Connecting via USB-C DisplayPort or Micro-HDMI, it interfaces with standard laptops and display controllers. This enables complete HIL (Hardware-In-the-Loop) testing of the attitude determination and control chain — from sensor stimulus through ADCS algorithm to actuator command — prior to spacecraft integration. Compatible with Pyxis Nano, Multi-Head, and Micro Star Sensors. Priced at €35,000.
