About
The Quadsat QS RF Measurement System (QS 1-18 DL) is an autonomous drone-based antenna measurement solution for satellite ground station antennas. The system mounts calibrated RF reference antennas on a UAV that flies precision trajectories around the dish under test, enabling in-situ far-field radiation pattern measurements across 1–18 GHz without requiring the station to go offline.
The system captures the full antenna gain pattern including sidelobe and cross-polarization levels, comparing measurements against theoretical antenna models. All data is collected in real time, processed on-board, and visualized in the Quadsat software suite. Measurement campaigns typically take a fraction of the time required by traditional range facilities or antenna ranges. The QS 1-18 DL is targeted at L, S, and Ku-band ground station antennas used for LEO, MEO, and GEO satellite communications.
