Satellite Integration
Tata Advanced Systems offers satellite assembly, integration, and testing services, including the development and launch of Earth Observation satellites like TSAT-1A.
About
Tata Advanced Systems has been selected by ISRO as one of three private companies for Assembly, Integration and Testing of Satellites for various applications. This collaboration marks a significant step for ISRO, allowing a private sector company to participate in its satellite build program on a large scale. This partnership opens new opportunities for Tata Advanced Systems to expand into building its own satellites for Indian and global markets, and to develop adjacent space technology applications under license from ISRO. The capabilities developed also benefit Tata Advanced Systems’ ongoing unmanned air systems development business. A key achievement is the successful build and launch of TSAT-1A, India’s first private space sub-metric high-resolution Earth Observation satellite, in partnership with Satellogic Inc. This involved comprehensive training, knowledge transfer, and local assembly, integration, and testing of optical and critical electronics packages at TASL’s state-of-the-art Satellite AIT facility in Vemagal, Karnataka. TSAT-1A was successfully deployed aboard SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket in April 2024.
