About

The Skycorp Orbital Logistics Vehicle (OLV) ushers in a new age in satellite architecture. It is a space platform built around a common interface bus (the intelligent Space Systems Interface, iSSI) that allows customized payloads from third parties to be hosted in space. The OLV brings an open, modular, cloud-computing-style architecture to spacecraft, similar to how Open Compute changed data center design. The vehicle is launched inside a protective container and assembled on-orbit at the International Space Station, enabling a lighter-weight design while still protecting the structure from launch loads. Skycorp’s architecture enables integration of modular payloads powered by the iSSI and Skycorp’s software architecture. Applications include on-orbit servicing and logistics, hosting of modular third-party payloads in GEO and cis-lunar space, and next-generation open-architecture satellite computing.
