ATLAS is a rapidly resettable non-explosive release actuator developed by SPACERACE. It is designed to provide a cost-effective and efficient solution for ground testing of space mechanisms, offering a substitution for traditional single-use or high-cost resettable release actuators. The device can be reset within 30 seconds using supplied tooling, making it highly efficient for repeated test deployments. It is engineered for efficiency, ergonomics, and reliability, aiming to streamline test operations and reduce release time dispersion between multiple units. The development of ATLAS has been supported by ESA BIC and is planned for commercial launch in 2025. The product is intended to accelerate space markets through a portfolio of smart components, enabling customers to test their mechanisms at a lower cost and higher rate. The company has conducted prototype test campaigns with over 100 full preload releases using the same hardware, demonstrating its durability and resettability. ATLAS is being qualified for use with space hardware according to European space standards ECSS.
