The GÖKTÜRK-3 Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Earth Observation Satellite System is designed to deliver the capability to image any region of the Earth at sub-meter resolution, independent of day and night conditions, since SAR imaging is unaffected by darkness or weather. The project is intended to address the SAR satellite imagery requirements of the Turkish Armed Forces, while also supporting the needs of civil institutions. The project is executed under the prime contractorship of TUSAŞ, with ASELSAN and TÜBİTAK UZAY acting as main subcontractors. The scope of the project encompasses the development of the satellite itself, as well as fixed and portable ground stations, launch and pre-orbit operations, integrated logistics support, and all other related activities and engineering services required to field the complete system.
