These systems are available in configurations suitable for platforms ranging from 3U to 16U. Key features include onboard attitude determination, automated operating modes, and user-configurable interfaces, allowing for customization to meet specific mission requirements. The ADCS supports various operating modes, including basic modes without CMG (Sun Pointing, Detumbling, Safe Mode) and advanced modes with CMG (Target Tracking, Fine Pointing, Local-Vertical-Local-Horizontal). Basic modes, controlled by magnetorquers, ensure solar array orientation for power, stabilize rotation post-deployment, and provide autonomous protection during spacecraft upsets. Advanced CMG-enabled modes enable continuous pointing at ground targets, high-precision attitude hold for imaging or optical communications, and Earth-referenced nadir orientation for ground coverage. The ADCS is available in integrated assembly (occupying 0.25U) or discrete configurations (occupying 0.75U total) to accommodate different satellite architectures and provide flexible component positioning.
